Mariana is a true multi-faceted gem, a poet of the heart, an anthropologist + archaeologist…in essence, she studies that which is sacred. Florecer Community is truly blessed to have had collaborations with Mariana + the wisdom she carries and shares. Mariana Bandera Marin carries with her a deep curiosity about what makes us human on earth and has an affinity to ceremonies around the world that help preserve wisdom and remembrance. She is an anthropologist and archaeologist who has worked in California, Mexico, Menorca, Texas and New York, protecting the sacred lands of the people who have guarded them for millennia.
Under the guidance of her Mexica and Mayan mentors, she offers Cacao ceremonies and life story interviews for those who want to share their wisdom and heart with their family and loved ones as a form of Rite of Passage.
In studying different cultures' Rites of passage, what surprised her is that they all have something in common. Their rituals to mark transformation are expressed in various forms, but at the root of it all, we see the same fundamentals-this is where the truths lie as blueprints.

Reimagining our Deaths (recorded live from 1/12/2023) exists as a resource in our evergreen digital library.
This is an invitation to reimagine our relationship to the concept of death, to our own death + shedding, and how it can affect the way we live our life and what is to come. Have you felt the call to sit and reimagine and even celebrate your own sacred deaths?
In many earth-based cultures around the world, we see that death is a living entity or spirit that guides us- it has an essence. In some cases, like the Mexica-Azteca, there is no word for death, but rather, we transcend and go back to the fountain of life. This voyage can be seen from Greeks to Celtics, to Mayans. Our earthly ancestors have gifted us a blueprint for death and how we can relate to it so we don't have to suffer when it is time- however, and whenever that is. Join us on a cross cultural exploration on death and reimagine what our own deaths in our life can look like and bring.
